Aloha! I hope everyone is doing well. I recently started reading murder mysteries. I'm even trying my hand at writing my own! My favorite mysteries to read are Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swensen series, the Lucy Stone mystery series and Laura Levine's series sometimes. I was just wondering does anyone know of an author who writes murder mysteries similar to either Joanne Fluke or the author who writes the Lucy Stone mysteries? I like Joanne Fluke and the Lucy Stone mysteries because they're engaging and the characters are relatable. Also, the authors don't use any cursing. Let's just say I'm not a fan of vulgar language in books. If anyone has any recs for me along those lines, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

Try Jill Churchill. She has a mystery series featuring a housewife in a Chicago suburb who, with the help of her best friend, solves murders. I also like the series by Diane Mott Davidson about a caterer named Goldy who solves mysteries. Another cute series that has some humor is the puzzle lady series by Parnell Hall. These books feature an old woman who is called the puzzle lady and her niece who solve murders. Each book involves solving a puzzle. I don't think there is strong languatge in any of these series, although the Goldy series by Diane Mott Davidson may be a little more serious than the other two series. I can look up the order if you are like me and want to read a series in order. Let me know, and I can send you the titles for each book in each series in a PM if you want.

I haven't heard of any of the authors mentioned here. But one who I quite like is Ellis Peters. Her books are quite good. In one series, it's about this monk, who solves all these mysteries. In another series, it's about this detective. Her books are quite good, and there aren't any strong language in any of them.

Mary Higgins Clark writes excellent suspense novels with no sex or strong language. Her books are all stand alones and not part of a series. Her daughter, Carol Higgins Clark, has a series about a private investigator named Reagan Reilly, and these books also have no strong language or sex.

I've just discovered another clean mystery series. So far, I've only read the first book, but it was clean and entertaining, and I intend to continue the series. The author is Rosemary Harris, and the series is called the Dirty Business Mysteries. The first one that I just finished is called Pushing Up Daisies: A Dirty Business Mystery. The main character is Paula Holliday who is a gardner and landscaper in a small Connecticut town. In the first book she finds the corpse of a baby while digging in a garden, and she soon has two mysteries to solve.

I'll have to check out some of these. I love mystery novels but have not heard of most of these before.
